Elaine and I made a fun springtime scramble up Mount Lawrence Grassi on a May weekend. This peak is close to Canmore, just up the Spray Lakes Road and starts from the same trailhead as the very popular Ha Ling Peak trailhead next to Whitemans Pond. We walked south along the gated road on the east side of the canal for maybe a mile before catching the trail heading up the west slopes of the peak. Up higher the route offers a very fun and scenic scramble without exceeding class 3. The linestone up there is fabulous!
